Surf Classes and Complementary Activities

How many hours a day are dedicated to surfing?

In the morning we will have a 2-hour surf class plus an additional 90 minutes of supervised surfing by our team of instructors.

In the afternoons, the supervised surf zone is available for 3 hours so you can put into practice the knowledge acquired in the morning.

A total of 6 hours in the water for beginner and intermediate levels. Advanced groups will participate in as many sessions as scheduled by the coach. A minimum of 2 to 3 surfs is guaranteed.

How many students are there per surf instructor?

Our surf school is attached to the Galician Surf Federation and respects the ratios established by this official body. Furthermore, our philosophy advocates for working in small groups to guarantee teaching quality.

In beginner groups, we work with 6 students/instructor, and in intermediate levels with 7 students per instructor. Sessions for more advanced surfers are focused on working with homogeneous groups to create an atmosphere of motivation and improvement.

How are students distributed in surf classes?

On the first day at Artsurfcamp, we will have the first class where we analyze each student’s level. From that moment on, we will set up a list with the instructor’s name and their respective 6 or 7 students, depending on the level. The rest of the days, the instructor and students will work together on a program suitable for their level.

There are 3 surf levels:

Advanced: the highest level of the school directed by a high-level surfer/coach who knows the bases and fundamentals of surfing to the letter. He will be observing your technique and giving you guidelines to improve it.

Beginner: aimed at those with little or no experience in surfing.

Intermediate: for students who have already reached a second step, have the pop-up controlled, and want to start surfing away from the shore, provided conditions allow.
