You can be calm about this aspect. Our beach meets optimal conditions for surf initiation and also for experienced surfers who want to take a step up in their level.
The beach is free of dangers and our instructors know it like the back of their hand. They know how to choose the best tide moment and conditions so you feel comfortable while learning and enjoying.
The success of safety in our activities lies in the small groups during surf lessons in the mornings and in the division by zones and levels for supervised surf in the afternoons, where you will be closely supervised by our instructors. Always with several instructors per zone.
Artsurfcamp is committed to the parents of its students, so we have a structure to supervise and accompany minors 24 hours a day. A team composed of 4 leisure instructors will sleep with the campers and provide them with help in everything they need.
Students must follow their instructions and respect the established schedules and program for the proper functioning of the camp.
As soon as you finalize your reservation at www.artsurfcamp.com, a reservation confirmation document will be sent to your email where you will find all the parental authorization documents and our camp rules. Both documents must be signed and delivered on the day of arrival at our facilities.
In the morning we will have a 2-hour surf class plus an additional 90 minutes of supervised surfing by our team of instructors.
In the afternoons, the supervised surf zone is available for 3 hours so you can put into practice the knowledge acquired in the morning.
A total of 6 hours in the water for beginner and intermediate levels. Advanced groups will participate in as many sessions as scheduled by the coach. A minimum of 2 to 3 surfs is guaranteed.
Our surf school is attached to the Galician Surf Federation and respects the ratios established by this official body. Furthermore, our philosophy advocates for working in small groups to guarantee teaching quality.
In beginner groups, we work with 6 students/instructor, and in intermediate levels with 7 students per instructor. Sessions for more advanced surfers are focused on working with homogeneous groups to create an atmosphere of motivation and improvement.
On the first day at Artsurfcamp, we will have the first class where we analyze each student’s level. From that moment on, we will set up a list with the instructor’s name and their respective 6 or 7 students, depending on the level. The rest of the days, the instructor and students will work together on a program suitable for their level.
There are 3 surf levels:
Advanced: the highest level of the school directed by a high-level surfer/coach who knows the bases and fundamentals of surfing to the letter. He will be observing your technique and giving you guidelines to improve it.
Beginner: aimed at those with little or no experience in surfing.
Intermediate: for students who have already reached a second step, have the pop-up controlled, and want to start surfing away from the shore, provided conditions allow.
We have top-brand equipment available to you, included in your package price. Rip Curl full wetsuits and a wide assortment of softboards of all sizes for your first steps. If you have more experience, we will also provide a board according to your surfing level.
If you want, you can bring your own gear; we will provide a space in our board storage to leave it.
Yes, if you all have the same surf level and are no more than 6/7 companions, as we work with small groups. The surf configuration will be done on the entry day and our coordinator will ask about your needs.
We recommend that experienced surfers who have their own gear bring it, as surfboards are usually very personal. If for some reason you cannot move your equipment to Razo, don’t worry as we will provide a board according to your needs.
We get up early to take advantage of the best waves. After an energetic breakfast in our dining room with sea views, it’s time to head to the surfschool where the instructors await us. We will suit up with our wetsuit, which will be dry after spending the night in our heated storage.
Now it’s time to meet up with the rest of the companions and take the boards accompanied by our instructor. We head down to the beach for a 2-hour class plus a free surf session. If I’m tired, I can leave earlier to enjoy some of the alternative activities prepared for before lunch. Now it’s time to recharge with lunch to face the busy afternoon with energy.
After finishing lunch, we will enjoy a moment of tranquility in the relax zone, or if you prefer, you can choose to jump onto our skate ramp to try your tricks. We also have a slack-line and plenty of indo-boards to spend this time with your new friends.
It’s time to go back into the water to put everything learned into practice. Our instructors will be in the supervised surf zones to look after you at all times. Also at your disposal are the beach volley net and activities directed by specialists: urban surf, bumper balls, capoeira, pilates-yoga, swell prediction workshops, surf training, video analysis, coastal route…
Strength fades after the intense day, but since we are on vacation, we have to make the most of every moment. Tarp surf, longskate slalom, night surf on the sliding side, and The Fake Night and Bye Bye Party on the party side…
Sure, we have multiple occupancy rooms; just let us know in your reservation that you are traveling in a group so we can accommodate you according to your needs, provided your group is homogenous in age and we have rooms of those capacities available.
We inform you that in junior camps, rooms are separated by gender.
Our kitchen team has designed a varied menu so that food isn’t a problem during your stay. Our local suppliers provide us with vegetables, fish, and meat from the market, which we then process in our kitchen to offer you a rich board designed to withstand long surf sessions.
We are aware that this is a growing need for our clients, so you just have to tell us your allergy so we can prepare your special menu.
Artsurfcamp is vegetarian-friendly, and that’s why we offer you our adapted menu. Contact our reservation team for more information.
